Feburary 15th, 2023: Minecraft 1.20 Features, My Thoughts, and Website Issues

     Today was pretty boring.

Alright, so the remaining features for Minecraft 1.20 have been revealed. They're pretty interesting! First off, a major addition to the game is the new Cherry Grove Biome. It includes "pretty cherry blossom trees," which look pretty cool. The biome reminds me of the Plenty O' Biomes Mod from a while back. They also added Archaeology from a former Minecraft Live event. You can brush "suspicious sand" from Temples and Desert Wells, which can get you Pottery Shards to make Decorated Pots. Pretty Interesting!

I think Minecraft 1.20 might be themed around a "missing features" update or a "community" update. They're adding a bunch of features that people have wanted from the past. The Cherry Grove Biome was probably pitched to Mojang Studios a couple years back, but they might've not added it since it didn't fit in with the rest of the biomes. Now, with so many changes to Minecraft, it's starting to feel really different than how it was before, so adding the Cherry Grove Biome, wouldn't be as grand and out-of-place. They're also adding Archaeology, which was from a Minecraft Live 2 years ago. Not exactly a significant change to major gameplay, but it's still pretty interesting, and I think that map makers or server owners can use them, like with special models with texture packs. They still haven't added bundles though, which would be pretty game changing. However, I can see that when you're just starting out, you wouldn't have many items to begin with.

My subscription for the website builder that I use for making this website is going to expire soon. I still have a couple weeks, but hopefully I can manage to keep this blog going after that. I don't exactly want to spend money to just use the website builder, if I could, I would host the website myself. I would've gone for Google Domains since I could also build this website with Google Sites, but I didn't want to waste the 20$ Visa gift card that I bought specifically for buying a domain. Originally, I just bought issacwoo.com for my Minecraft Server, but this blog is pretty cool too.

Thanks for reading,
