Feburary 25th, 2023: Artificial Intelligence, Website Update, and The Future Of Consumption

Today was okay.

On the news, I saw the question if AI is conscious or not. In my opinion, I feel that it is told to act as if it has consciousness. This is evident in how AIs are developed. Artificial Intelligences, like Chat-GPT are trained on massive data sets, so that they are knowledgeable on a large number of topics. They know so much, that they can act with different personas. Chat-GPT is just one AI Model which is configured to act as an AI knowledgeable assistant. However, other AI chatbots, utilizing the GPT-3.5 AI Model exist as well. I know of a Model trained to act like a girlfriend, but then the AI broke up with the guy, so the person terminated it. AI is becoming extremely advanced.

I've updated the Blog page so that it has a "Latest Blog" button. At first, I was thinking to copy and paste the entire calendar for that month's blogs, which would be really annoying. But I think the Latest Blog button would be a lot better. I've also removed my email from the footer, just in case a bot decides to flood my inbox. Instead, if you go to my contact page, there's a form you can use to send me a message.

What will food be in the future? How will humans consume nutrients? When I was little, I thought of "nutrition blocks." Blocks of sustenance, meeting daily requirements of nutrients if eaten 3 times a day. You can add flavor packets to spice it up if you like! Perhaps this will be food in a dystopian society, all farms destroyed and the only food remaining is in a warehouse with nutrition blocks. In the current day and age, food scarcity is still a big issue in the world. How can we feed people with the growing population? How can we fix this issue with efficiency? Food requires water to create. When I was in 7th grade, I learnt about different processes for water purification, including desalination. I thought desalination was a great way for the world to fix its water issue, but it is incredibly energy intensive. Hopefully such issues won't have to plague the population of the future. Hopefully someone will find a solution in the near future.
