July 9th, 2023: GMTK Jam 2023 Day 3 (Last 10 hours)

Today was pretty good.

Today, I continued working on the game I was yesterday for the GMTK Jam 2023. Here is the link to the game: https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2023/rate/216060

I'm thinking of going more in depth in a YouTube video, because I think I can explain a lot more with visuals, but I'll give a basic breakdown of what I did.

At 10 hours before the due date (12:00AM), I began working on all of UI for the game.

At 9 hours before the due date (1:00AM), I was finished with the UI and worked on the user sprites and began integrating the text engine.

At 8 hours before the due date (2:00AM), I was finished with the text engine, and began working on video sprites and the generation of them to show up on the screen.

At 6 hours before the due date (4:00AM) I finished with the video sprites and searched online for more sound effects and worked on some additional buttons.

At 5 hours before the due date (5:00AM) I began finishing up the ✔ tab and the end screen.

At 4 hours before the due date (6:00AM), the sun began rising, so I opened my window. I also began creating video sprites and text for the other users in the game.

At 2 hours before the due date (8:00AM), my dad woke up and asked what I was doing up so early. I lied and said I was doing homework. My lie worked. Anyways, at this point, I really quickly finished up a basic in-game tutorial so that people wouldn't need to scroll down to the description to learn how to play.

At 1 hour before the due date (9:00AM), I was finished with the in-game tutorial, and began submitting my game and working on the game page and other aspects of the game. Around 9:45AM, I was done with the game, and I slept until 1PM.

Anyways, I hope everyone considers playing it. I'll create a trailer sometime later, and the game is actually decent enough for me to want people to play it. I think I'll also create a Behind-The-Scenes video, going more in-depth with what I wrote today and some of my planning papers.
