June 22th, 2023: Summer Slow Jams 2023: Idle (Day 12)

Today was alright.

Honestly, the development of the game is not going well at all. There's 4 days left at the time of writing this. I was too optimistic yesterday, The AI pathfinding isn't working. The implementation, in my thinking, should be working. I was expecting to finish a lot more today, but I was only able to finish the combat system. I also reworked and got some new sounds. The old sounds were just me hitting myself, but they weren't really hitting or punching sounds, more like slapping sounds.

Anyways, I originally wanted to implement a saving system, because it's supposed to be an idle game. However, with the amount of time left I have, there's probably only going to be about 30 minutes of actual gameplay in the game, and I don't think most people will even play the full 30 minutes. I might also need to scrap creating an AI pathfinding system at all, because traditional implementations, like A* won't work in time since I'm not working on a grid. Honestly, I probably could create it but I'm just too lazy. Anyways, with the non-existence of a pathfinding system for the enemies, levels are going to have to be a lot more boring. I still need to create everything else, so I'm going to go to bed now. I also need to keep up with my summer classes...
