June 25th, 2023: Summer Slow Jams 2023: Idle Prototype Screenshots

Today was alright.

Here are some screenshots from the scrapped prototype for my game that I was going to publish.

The game was supposed to have an item system. It worked pretty well. The only item that was created was hearts, which healed you. There wasn't an inventory system though. The items would probably just give you temporary power ups.

The game had a text engine to show a variety of text on the screen, including a health indicator and tutorial text.

As I've stated on my previous blogs, enemies existed. The AI was never created. 3 days were spent on collisions for the enemies. In the end, right before deciding to quit on this game, the AI was just walking in a random direction until the player was close enough. The Player could hit enemies further away than the enemies could hit the player.

I'm sure I'll make a game over the summer, and I really hope that my commitment for my next one will be stronger.
