June 29th, 2023: Vacuuming, USB Troubleshooting, and Keyboard Cleaning

Today wasn't very eventful, I could've been more productive, but it was still a good day.

Anyways, I messed around with my camera again to try to get it to work, but unfortunately, the LCD backlight is still dead. Afterwards, I fully set up my old TV receiver box in my room to watch TV. I used the ethernet cable that I normally use for my Minecraft Server, and for my Server, I got a Wi-Fi adapter. The connections on my Minecraft Server might suffer a little. but it should still be fine.

Afterwards, I moved around all of my power cords and wires to improve my cable management. At the same time, since I had to move my PC and Server out of the way anyways, I vacuumed the space and vacuumed the dust out of my PC and Server. It wasn't a lot of dust since they're underneath my table, but it was still good to get rid of the dust.

After that, I tried troubleshooting and fixing my Logitech Unifying Receiver. First, I tried the Logitech Unifying Software, but my PC didn't detect the USB at all. So, after looking online, disassembling the USB and putting a little paper to increase the height of the contacts could help fix the USB. It took a long time to finally disassemble it, but I was finally able to take it all apart and get to the main USB board and contacts. First, I tried just cleaning the contacts, which were surprisingly dirty. That didn't work, so I disassembled it again and put in the paper. However, the paper was too big, so I couldn't even plug in the USB. Then, I used a little less paper, but it had no impact.

Prior to that, I was cleaning my really old keyboard, which relied on the Logitech Unifying Receiver. It was crazy dirty. I used to just take the keys out and clean those, let them dry, and then put the keys back in. However, this time, I took apart the entire keyboard. It was actually REALLY dirty inside. There was random crumbs, which were somehow all a disguising yellow-orange color, deep inside the crevices of the keyboard. It also smelt really bad. Anyways, I took apart that, and I gave it a shower. Hopefully I can put it all back together, but it might take some time to do so.

Anyways, I should really be focusing on my drivers' ed and my college classes. These past few days, there hasn't been any actual homework for my college class, but I still need to do the readings. Hopefully I get more focused and productive tomorrow!
