March 22nd, 2023: Music Concert, and Relaxation
Similarly to yesterday, I had a lot of things to do, but I'm doing pretty good.
Like an earlier blog, I said that I signed up for the music concert at my school. I have a couple ideas. One song which I really like is "Emotion", from Pokémon Black and White. It's a song that always makes me emotional. I've played the hell out of it though, so I'm not sure if I'd want to play it at the music concert. I might resort to it if I don't end up learning another song.
Another song that I've thought about is "Zombies On Your Lawn", written by Laura Shigihara. She has also written the soundtrack for Plants vs. Zombies. I really like the upbeat feel of the song. A lot of it is the same motif, so it would also be easy to learn. However, I feel it's sort of a niche song, since it's from a video game, so I'm not sure if I want to play this at the concert. I think the only sheet music for solo piano is just the same few measures repeated, too.
Another song that I've considered is "Heart and Soul." I think people would recognize it as the duet piano song, but I think it's been overplayed in the piano community, to the point where it's become music for noobs to play.
Lastly, one song that one of my friends have considered, Rodrigo, is Gymnopedie No. 1. It's a pretty easy and calming song, and I too like it. I remember listening to it in 7th grade and enjoying it once during study hall. The only reason I'm against it is that it's not really that well known, compared to other songs like Fur Elise. Hopefully I can decide soon! I need time to practice.
I wonder how people in high school manage to find the time to watch shows. I haven't played video games, or watched a show series in a long time. Mostly, I might just listen to music while I do my work or have a random YouTube video playing in the background. Over the summer I watched a little anime, but I really want to relax during school time as well. At least my schedule is filled with extracurriculars.
