November 29th: Finance Club and Robotics Meeting

Today was good.

During lunch break I attended a Finance Club meeting. We learned about networking and creating a LinkedIn account. I wasn't really paying attention, but I might make one over winter break.

After school, there was a Robotics Meeting. At first, I had to conduct an interview, so while I was doing that, the programming team got the computers prepared. Then, I had to help discuss about what we were going to be doing for transportation to Mechanical M-Ayhem, since we didn't have enough rides for everyone to competition. We were stumped, so we put a hold on helping with that so I could check in with the programming team.

They had made some decent progress. I think setting up the computers took a little while, but they had added to correct dependency which I was glad they did. Then, they just had to redefine the type of the motor objects, which I pointed out to them. I helped around with the programming team, then the team leads were called to help make decisions about transportation again.

We talked for a long time about transportation because we didn't want anyone to not be able to go because they didn't have a ride. If we didn't have enough rides for Mechanical M-Ayhem, some people wouldn't be able to go to the competition, so after some encouragement and coercion with the rest of the members, we finally figured out our transportation situation!

At this time it was 5:30, so it was time for the veteran member meeting with the folks from Mechanical M-Ayhem. The meeting was pretty useful, we helped confirm some details and we understood how competition day would function.

After the meeting, which ended around 6:20, it was time to clean up the room. After checking in on the code, it appears that the drive base code is completely finished! Now we just need to test the code, which will hopefully be happening tomorrow.

Today's meeting was pretty long, but in order to finish the robot on time, we might stay even longer tomorrow to finish it.

Thanks for reading,

Issac
