November 5th: Robotics Meeting and Bike Fixing

Today was good.

There was a Robotics Meeting today. For the programming team, I conducted a review lecture on loops and functions. Then, we did a small project, which was slightly larger than the regular exercises. The summary of the project was to create a program which outputted "A"s depending on how scared the user was from 1 - 5. I was expecting people to finish it in around 30 minutes, but many took almost 3 hours to finish it with guidance, with some not even finishing. Near the end of the meeting, we had to tell everyone to pause on their progress because we were going to test the code they had developed a week prior. For some reason, everything was weirdly inverted. Since the meeting was going to end very soon, we decided to dig further into the issue next week.

After today, we're probably going to be doing some revisions on how the programming team will function regarding learning concepts. We probably will be slowing down learning so that the rookie members can have more time to get familiar with them and to understand the logic.

My auntie bought an electric bike for my grandpa since he lost his license, but he broke it, so after the parts finally came, I tried fixing it today.

My auntie told me what was wrong with it last week, but I forgot what the exact issue was, and I couldn't see anything wrong at first sight, so I just pumped up the tires and tried the bike out. It has three speed settings, but I felt like the 3rd speed setting was too fast, even though it was just 19 miles per hour. Maybe I'll get used to it if I get to use it more often.

Anyways, after asking my grandma, the issue was that the inner tube for both of the tires were leaking air. At this point, it was around 5 o 'clock, and since it's almost winter time, sunset was happening. It took me another 10 minutes to find an appropriate guide on disassembling the front tire, and then another 30 minutes to finally finish replacing the inner tube. At this point, it was way too dark for me to continue working (I was outside of my garage) so I called it a day after fixing just the front tire and I put everything away.

After that, I sat around on the couch because I was tired until dinner time.
