October 23rd: Robotics and Light Running

Today could've been better.

There was a Robotics Meeting today. The Programming team did some readings, then I gave a lecture on git and GitHub. The Public Relations team also listened in, because we will probably be using GitHub pages for our website.

The electrical team continued attempting to fix the robot (a connection was undone from yesterday that wasn't fixed), while the engineering team continued to shape metal for the chassis.

During the programming team's lecture, I honestly felt unconfident on how I should be teaching git and GitHub. When I tried to teach through example, it was going fine at first, but I ran into an error because of git credentials. It took us around 15 minutes to fix the issue, and in the end, I had to delete the credential from Windows Credential Manager.

I'll probably be writing or giving more resources to those in the lecture today because I felt like I had failed them. After some feedback, I'll also probably be changing what we will be doing in these meetings. Since we only have a month left, it's important that the programming team at least has some hands-on experience with actually programming a robot. So, I'm thinking of working more with the more knowledgeable students, while the ones who are still learning C++ will be learning through readings and exercises. I'll be present, so if they have any questions, they can ask as well.

I'm hoping that the electrical team finishes with the connection issue soon. I hope the programming team can finish programming on Wednesday, so that we can test on Sunday. I also forgot to mention about documentation, which I know our advisor, Mr. K will remind me about.

Anyways, I really wanted to run in a larger capacity this evening, which I had the opportunity to, but I forgot to eat lunch earlier today. So, when I came back home, I ate lunch, but I didn't wait long enough before running, so I got a bit of a stomach ache when I was running. In total, I just ran a mile and a half. To "compensate" for this, I did an ab workout.

Hopefully tomorrow goes well! I'll be helping with a Robotics fundraiser, and we will be doing hills practice for Cross Country practice.

Thanks for reading,
Issac
