October 4th: Cross Country Race and SAT Test Taking Troubles
Today was good.
We had a Cross Country race today. It was in San Joaquin Miller Park. Our coaches had some trouble getting there because the destination location wasn't made very clear. When we finally got there, we put our stuff on tables and began to do some stretches. Then, at 3:10, the Boys Varsity teams started racing. The park was extremely dusty, and there was a lot of loose dirt everywhere, especially when everyone was bunched up together at the start. The course was also extremely confusing, with lots of repeated sections and weird routes. A lot of people got lost, and some people even cheated and accidently took shortcuts. According to my watch, I took 26 minutes and 50 seconds (26' 50"), which I think is pretty good for myself. As of right now, they're still adding and finalizing scores, so I don't know my exact placement. After that, we went around the course to the confusing sections and directed people. We finally arrived back to the school at around 5:30PM.Â
My brother bought an SAT study book a couple months ago for me. I've been studying for it, but I haven't actually registered to take it until now. I think I've made a grave error, because the only available SAT Testing center is in Pleasant Hill, which is really far away for me. My grandfather also had his license revoked because he couldn't pass his test, so unless I get my father to wake up at 6 AM, I really have no option to get there but to walk or use public transit. If I use public transit, I might not even make it in time, because some of the services don't open in time. I could walk there, but it might be a bit dangerous. Honestly, I really wished that I considered taking the SAT a long time ago so that I would be more prepared. I really hope I can take the paper test, because the book I have is for the paper one. I don't want to waste my brother's money on another book.
Thanks for reading,
