October 5th: Robotics Meeting, SAT, and Taking An All Nighter
Today was alright.
We had a Robotics Meeting to make some final touches to the robot and pack everything up. The engineering team finally finished mounting the bumpers, while the electrical team, as well as some of the business teams helped finish taping up the numbers on our bumpers so that they were fully filled in.
When that was finished, we powered on the robot and tested the arm, which functioned fine for a moment. However, the chain and the cog was bouncing, which was an issue, and the arm couldn't lift itself back up. So, our engineering team lead got on a call with one of our mentors to resolve the issue.
While we were bringing stuff to the van, the electrical team mounted the cameras onto the robot into the main driver's ideal positions, and added some additional cushioning for the arm as well. Hopefully it works well for competition this weekend! Tomorrow, the team leads (5 people) will all be going on a van to unload stuff into our pit area.
I was registering for the SAT again after my father said he would take me, but unfortunately for me, the testing center I was hoping to go to (Which was like almost an hour away) became filled, so I can't take the physical SAT at all this year, and my brother wasted his money buying an SAT prep book for me. I'm rather angry at College Board for not having more test centers. They should make this accessible, because one's entire future could be affected by having an SAT score. College Board should really have more efforts in having more test centers. Anyways, I'll still be preparing for the digital SAT next year, and hopefully I can get a closer test center.
Since I had to skip out on class for the Cross Country Meet yesterday, I have a bunch of homework and assignments I have to make up. It looks like I'll be taking an all-nighter tonight to finish it all. Maybe I'll get an hour of sleep? I think I function decently well without sleep.
