October 7th: CalGames 2023, Day 2 (Saturday)

Today went pretty good!

At 5 o' clock, I woke up, and by 6 I was at school. We arrived to the competition site, in Woodside, at 7.

The rest of our new members were getting started with volunteering, while the ones in the pit made the final touches to our robot. We discussed about strategy with our alliance members for our upcoming match. For our first match, we had a wire that fell out, so the radio kept failing. Then, for our second match, someone didn't plug in the battery securely. However, on our third match, we made sure everything was properly connected, so we were finally able to score points. Throughout the day, I re-adjusted our autonomous mode, so now it's a bit better, so now we can eject a cube into the grid and leave the community. At the end of the day, we were 4-3-0. I think 4 wins in a competition is our record!

Some issues we had during competition was that the spacer for the motor kept getting undone, which caused the sprocket to skip chains, and we couldn't get our arm back up. The pits were also really hot! It was around 90 degrees.

Anyways, we have some time tomorrow morning to get some practice in, and one of the other drivers wants a stronger ejection force, which I'll program to a button in the morning. Hopefully we do well in our matches tomorrow!
