April 18th: SJSU Field Trip, Giants Ballgame
Today was good, which was a nice change compared to the bad week.
I went on a school fieldtrip to San Jose State University today. In 7th grade I went there, but It's cool to go there again. We left school around 11:30, and we arrived at around 12:20. We had some free time before our tour so my friends and I went to get lunch. I got a poke bowl, it was not bad, but I think I should've gotten the sushi or something else. I also purchased a redbull to wake my self up. I didn't end up drinking all of it though, I drank around 60% of it.
Anyways, after we ate lunch, we went on a guided tour around campus. I recognized some of the structures I saw when I went there in 7th grade. The campus is pretty beautiful and it seems that there are many opportunities available.
We arrived back on campus around 4PM, and I checked in with the robotics team. I had left instructions but not everyone read them. While they got to work I went back home to drop off my backpack, then I came back, and they were beginning to test.
Unfortunately, not much time was allotted to test, but the tests that were conducted didn't work. When integrating the note alignment code with the main code, the note alignment code didn't function, and for estimating the position of the robot using encoders, we couldn't get any readings from the encoders.
So, after the meeting wrapped up, I went with Austin to the Giants Ballgame! Thank you Austin and Austin's Mom! It was my first ever visit to a baseball game.
We went to BART, then took the BART to Embarcadero Station, then we took MUNI to get to the Oracle Park. The park is really big and right by the seaside. We got some food then headed to our seats. We got the tickets because it was supposed to be school sanctioned; our homeroom got some tickets from a charity organization, but then due to the school fights, the administration was busy and wasn't able to organize our transportation, so we weren't able to get to the ball game as a homeroom. So, our homeroom teacher gave the tickets to whoever wanted to go.
The seats were pretty good, the field was surprisingly visible. The game was pretty exciting. Unfortunately, the camera never showed us on the big screen. It was fun to watch and I had a really good experience. Before the end of the 8th inning, we left because it was getting late. The Giants ended up winning 5-0 against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
