April 6th: East Bay Regional (Day 2)
Today was good!
We're doing pretty good! Unfortunately, I can't remember everything from the competition, but I know that we're doing pretty good in our matches.
We've been able to consistently support our alliance members as support, which is awesome. We've also been able to win a couple more of our matches than prior competitions and prior seasons. Right now, we're ranked 20th / 60 teams. Hopefully we can prove that we're able to be chosen as alliance partners!
Unfortunately the programming team was unable to conduct much testing, but we did make very minor changes to our controls to help our drivers out with precision. We have a big chunk of time tomorrow before our first qualification match, so we hope that we can get some further improvements to the robot.
Another problem we've encountered is that our intake plate got bent in because we rammed into something yesterday during the practice matches, but fortunately, we were able to wedge it into place using a vice. We wanted to reinforce it, but then it made mounting our bumpers a lot harder. We'll just need to be a little bit more careful and ensure that we're inspecting our robot after every match.
After the closing ceremony, Berkelium, the host team, hosted a team social, and we had a lot of fun connecting with other teams.
Overall I'm really happy for how today went. There's always an increasing trend for how we're performing between competitions, and this is our highest performance ever! I also got to see our old friend J, who I was good friends with and used to be on the team, but now he's on Rambots 2204.
Thanks for reading,
Issac
