February 12th: School Struggles, Robotics Meeting, Babysitting
Today was OK.
Last night I had to rush to finish my economics homework. However, I couldn't finish it in time! I read the chapter, and I thought I understood it, but when I actually did the questions, I didn't understand how to do them. It was due at 11:59, and I was working right until the deadline, but I still wasn't able to finish ANYTHING. I have to complete a quiz next week, so hopefully I can understand all of the past chapters and remember everything by then!
I definitely need to "lock-in" and focus more on my school work. I still want to continue taking all of the courses that I'm taking right now, but I need to fix my routine if I want to succeed. My grade for economics already took a good 20% hit, and I don't want it to drop anymore.
Anyways, after school, there was a robotics meeting. The engineering team worked on the robot cart and the intake and outtake systems. Unfortunately, one of the motors we were installing broke, so we'll be needing to buy a new one. Hopefully we won't make the same mistake again!
For the programming team, we researched about the hardware we need for a new camera. We also fixed some of our team systems, including our Spotify computer, and our POS system. We also began determining the accuracy of our limelight, so that we know what the standard deviation is of the readings. With that, we can ensure that when we feed all of the values into the "calculator" (poseEstimator), the final readings will be as accurate as possible, and the robot will know where it is to an accurate degree.
After the robotics meeting, I had to help my grandma babysit my baby nephew. He was not very obedient. However, he learning and speaking new words. I did my homework while I looked over him, so at least I was a little more productive.
Thanks for reading,
