February 23rd: Robotics Meeting, Happy Birthday Alison!

Today was good.

Honestly, for the robotics team, we're all waiting for parts to arrive, so we did what we could today.

For the electronics team, they located the proper step down module to power our ethernet switch, that way our ethernet switch will be properly powered. We've been powering it with the VRM, but according to other teams, we should only be using the VRM to power the radio since it isn't the most reliable voltage regulator. They also set up the motor controller for our lifter mechanism today!

Engineering finished the prototype of the lifter mechanism. Right now, it's precariously attached to the robot using a dozen zip ties, but it still held the robot.

So, the programming team today wrote test code for the lifter mechanism. We also calculated the standard deviation of the readings from the limelight, which are pretty accurate, but we want advice if these are the proper readings we should be using, since the standard deviation will be in comparison with readings from the wheel encoders.

We also set up the case for the camera. At first when we 3d printed it, the case was lopsided, but after we increased the density and reprinted it, the case was properly attached.

Happy Birthday Alison!

Thanks for reading,
Issac
