February 28th: Robotics Meeting, Sleep
Today was OK.
In Today's Robotics Meeting, we were really productive.
Unfortunately, the 3D print from yesterday failed because the print ran out of filament, and since we made it hollow, the build collapsed. We replaced the filament during the meeting, but while we were printing another version, the filament got stuck and started making some really loud noises. We fixed it again before we left the meeting, and we made it print a benchie, so we couldn't print the battery mount.
Anyways, the electrical team finished the electrical board, and now it is mounted on the robot. All that needs to be done now is to wire the motors.
The engineering team did some testing for the intake system, and it looks like we will need some programming help to make sure it functions properly during competition. Basically, the intake system must have motors at the maximum speed for it to pick up the note because it barely picks up notes since it is slightly higher than the ground. The internal motors must also not pass up the note too high, or else the note loses contact with any wheels.
For the programming team, we did a lot of math today, but most members were also waiting for the robot to begin programming. We finally figured out all of the math for our field centric positioning controls, but we also need to figure out everything for the actual positions and orientations of the field. We should be able to figure out soon since the rest of the electrical board should be finished by tomorrow.
We also discovered that our vision processing camera is really, really blurry. We contacted support and they responded pretty quickly! We'll be following their instructions tomorrow.
Yesterday I slept for two hours, from 9 to 11. Then I woke up and did some more homework. Hopefully I don't fall asleep tonight!
