January 10th: Rainy Weather, Robotics Meeting
Today was OK.
It was raining once again today. Thinking back, everytime I was outside, it was raining, but when I was inside, it stopped raining. Fortunately, the weather forecast expects that there won't be any rain tomorrow, which will be good because we want to test Simbot after fixing it up and changing the code.
Today, in the Robotics Meeting, our head advisor Mr. K told us to create a shopping list required for implementing our ideas for tackling different aspects of the robot. In the mean time, the electrical team focused on reattaching all of the electrical components and making the electrical system more clean. They reinstalled the roboRIO and I helped them fix the CANBus because we took off some useless motor controllers. Afterwards, I updated all of the software and configured the motor controller port numbers for the code. However, I didn't get around to updating the code to reflect the new port numbers, nor did we get to test the new code.
Anyways, the engineering team got started on the drive base so that we could waste less time when all the parts arrived.
We still need to fully implement how we want all of the different systems on the robot to function. We began creating a list but we still need an actual CAD model or something so we don't make any mistakes.
Hopefully we get to sorting that out tomorrow!
Happy Birthday Dario!
