January 13th: Robotics Meeting

Today was good.

I woke up at 10AM, which meant that I was late for the Robotics Meeting.

When I arrived, everyone was separated and were making plans for the manipulator system, the endgame stage system, and the intake system. I got started on helping with the stage system because it appeared that we had a part, but after lots of looking around, we didn't have it.

After that, I got setup with backing up files on our driver station computer onto our Google Drive. Afterwards, I tried to create a disk image of the drive, but I couldn't do it, because for some reason, Ubuntu kept complaining about running out of space on my 500GB hard drive that I brought, despite the internal SSD being just 256GB. Since all that was really important was the code and the images, which were all on our GitHub and Google Drive, I decided to just scrap making a backup of the entire drive.

So, I created a Windows Installation USB to install Windows. Initially, I connected the computer to the internet, but then Windows kept prompting me to create a Microsoft Account, which we weren't able to do since we couldn't use our team email for the Microsoft Account. So, I had to start all over again and completed the Windows installation without internet.

After Windows was set up, I had to update and install everything, but afterwards, the driver station computer was completely set up!

While I was in the process of installing Windows, I checked up around the team for their progress and to help them with anything they needed.

Overall, today was somewhat productive. We definitely need to start making a CAD model of the robot soon so that our plans are concrete, which means we can start purchasing what we need.

Thanks for reading,
Issac
