January 23rd: Robotics Meeting

Today was OK. I think I was even more tired than yesterday even though I slept earlier.

Honestly, for the most part, we are waiting for our parts to arrive so we can start building the robot. Most of the CAD models have been completed.

The electrical team got to work designing the electrical board for the robot. Some of them continued to experiment with the mini macs with me as well. Some of the programming team worked on the timeclock system, but switched over to improving the POS system because they were experiencing some difficulties.

For the IMU, we wanted to test the delta time outside, but unfortunately, when we removed the screen, we had to move the Wi-Fi antennas to more inconvenient locations, which made the Wi-Fi signal weaker. We really couldn't get the IMU to produce any proper numbers, so we tried to use the internal accelerometer in the roboRIO, which also didn't work.

Tomorrow is our last day with trying to get the accelerometers to work. After that, we have to give simbot to the electrical so that they can strip components for our new robot for the 2024 season, so hopefully we finish quickly tomorrow!

Thanks for reading,
Issac
