January 8th: Giving Up On Hard Drive Recovery, Biking Twice

Today was OK.

Datarecovery.com gave me a call back regarding my request for recovering my password-locked harddrive containing all of my server files. Unfortunately, they quoted me a price of around 2000 dollars. Yes, 2 thousand dollars. I don't have 2K lying around, so unfortunately, I'll just be giving up and moving on.

Bye-bye 5 years of Minecraft server files! Bye-bye awesome memories! Maybe when I can somehow muster up 2000 bucks I can see you again but not in the near future!

I think I've learned my lesson and I will be more strict on backup policies and password management.

Anyways, for lunch and dinner today, I had to bike twice (manually, no e-bike because it has a flat) 1 1/2 miles to the Chinese restaurant. The food was pretty good though and at least I got some good exercise before school starts again!
