July 26th: Homework, Crazy Rich Asians, and Cross Country Conditioning

Today was good.

I finished my homework earlier. I'm proud of myself for that! Even though this "good habit" has started at the end of the semester, I hope this work ethic continues.

I finished watching the movie Crazy Rich Asians. It was released a little longer ago (before the pandemic!) but I finally got around to watching it today. The film is beautifully shot, with beautifully colored scenes with extravagantly lavish settings and buildings. I enjoy how the movie includes themes that East Asians have grown up with, including the importance of family and status. Some of these may come off as stereotypes, but I find it somewhat relatable. It's really beautiful to see how Eleanor Young, at first perpetuating these ideals, and her change of heart. Though I'm not typically one to watch romance films, I believe the film resolves the conflict really well. The film includes comedic elements in good intervals and in the correct settings. I liked seeing some of the popular Asian actors that I could recognize.

I participated in the Cross Country Conditioning today. We did sprints. My stomach started hurting in the sprints. However, I am happy that I am not sore nor too tired after the conditioning. I hope I become more fit for Cross Country as the season continues! I hope that I also have time for Cross Country as well.

Thanks for reading,
Issac
