July 4th: Independence Day!
Today was good!
It was Independence Day today! It was a really good day.
In the morning, for lunch, my family had a small barbecue at my aunt's house. It was mostly with my uncle's side of the family. It was rather awkward, so my family quickly ate and left. It was also quite boring. It was mainly older folks, who were talking about VACUUMS, THE WEATHER, SCHOOLS IN THE AREA, which I feel like are some of the most cliché parent/older people things you could talk about.
Afterwards, when I went home, I got a little bit of homework done. My friend Christy dropped some apricots off, and my grandma gave her a bunch of home made Chinese food. The apricots were very yummy!
At around 6, my brother came back from his apartment and we went back to my aunt's house for the second rendition of the barbecue. This time, it was all younger people. Though it was a little boring at first, after we were all done eating, we played some card games. At first, we played a little bit of poker, but it got a bit boring since most of everyone else didn't know how to play poker, and we didn't have any chips. Then, we played Blackjack, which was a little bit more fun. Finally, my brother suggested Cambio, which was a really neat game! After the card games, we went outside to see the fireworks, and my brother and I drove back home to get the fireworks I bought from close to my work. They were really fun, and it was the first time we had ever lit anything extravagant. I regret not buying more, because it was a really cool sight to see, and it was really fun watching them!
