June 27th: Server Work and Statistics Homework
Today was good.
I finished upgrading my server today. It now has 32 gigabytes of ram and an i7-2600 processor. The processor, for some odd reason, is running at a lower than base clock speed as it's base, and as the max turbo, the regular base speed is the max turbo. It's really weird, and I hope it's just because of the poor, unlocked bios, and I didn't get scammed out of a processor.
After I finished installing it, I started a benchmark and I accidently took a nap. Whoopsies! Fortunately, nothing bad happened while I was slumbering.
After my nap I had to get started on my Statistics homework. Unfortunately, I didn't get finished until 4AM the next day.
Regarding my server, I'm glad to have set up key based authentication, but for some reason, the restricted bash users still have access to other commands outside of the ones symbolically linked. It's weird and is a security issue, but hopefully I can figure it out. Right now, I need to get the server back up and running!
I also moved the server to the living room, so hopefully I can sleep better.
I have work tomorrow and I will be running on such little sleep! I'm hoping I can go out during break time to buy a redbull.
Thanks for reading,
