June 6th: Chabot Student ID and Senior Graduation Ceremony

Today was really good!

I had a large chunk of my day planned out. I was going to leave my house at 4, that way I could make it to the welcome center before it closed so I could get my Chabot Student ID. I needed it so that I could take exams in person for my statistics class, and I don't think they'll be accepting my passport from when I was 6. After I got that, I would go to the STEM center to ask questions about classes, and at 5:45, I would attend the senior graduation ceremony for this year's seniors from my school. The graduation ceremony was held at the auditorium at Chabot, so everything was at the right place!

I ended up leaving my house at 4pm in a bit of a hurry. I rode my bike until I reached Chabot College. It was after I locked my bike and I started walking, that I realized that I forgot the ticket that Bryan (Thank you so much Bryan!) gave me to attend the senior graduation ceremony! I quickly sped walked to the welcome center to get my photo ID taken. I planned out a picture beforehand, but as it turns out, they would take the picture there. Fortunately, I was wearing formal attire since I was originally planning to go to the graduation ceremony afterwards. My picture turned out pretty good! I'm happy to have my Chabot photo ID now.

After that, I quickly hopped back onto my bike to ride back home to get my ticket, and then come back to the Chabot auditorium. I managed to make it at just the nick of time, around 4:50. That means that I couldn't make it to the STEM center. Maybe next time! I got a seat, and the ceremony began shortly afterwards. I got my phone out to record the ceremony for my friends who couldn't attend. If you would like the recordings, please reach out!

First, all of the graduates walked the stage. It was really heartwarming to see all of the important, inspiring individuals that I had gotten to know over this past year at such a momentous occasion. Surprisingly, I actually cried a little! Afterwards, when everyone was on stage, was a welcome address from the school leader. Then, was the faculty address from our counselor. Afterwards, was the student address from a rather popular student. Then the graduates who received honors had their honors announced. Afterwards, was when the diplomas were distributed. Finally, when the graduates turned their tassels, I cried a little again. It was just so meaningful to see my favorite people graduating, all going their separate ways, after getting to know them and really appreciating them this past year. It makes me happy that they're all going to new, exciting places, but it makes me a little sad inside that they're all leaving.

After the ceremony concluded, I left the auditorium and went on a search to distribute more of the gifts I gave to seniors. After I was finished with that, I took some pictures with my favorite seniors. Finally, I helped to group the new graduates with each other so that they could take a final photo. I went on a final stroll, looking for any graduates I missed on congratulating. Finally, I biked back home.

Thank you to all of the senior graduates I met this year. You all are so special to me, and I'm so happy to have gotten to meet you all! I hope we stay in touch!
