March 7th: The Night Before The Robotics Competition
Today I was really tired.
In today's robotics meeting, we stayed from 3PM to 1AM. Yes, we stayed for 8 hours after school. Basically, we were at school for 17 hours. Crazy right? Anyways, our robot is mostly done now.
Some members got together to create bumpers. They had many problems with the wood and drill. Fortunately, they were able to finish!
The programming team finished writing the concrete competition code. On the side, we're going to be trying to program our advanced vision processing and making it to use. Hopefully we can get an estimated position of the robot on the field. Otherwise, we will use it for automatically aiming our launcher towards game pieces or the april tags on the speaker.
The documentation for photonvision is pretty outdated (and simply wrong) for C++. Some of it isn't logical. Anyways, we managed to get it to work after lots of thinking and mulling around.
Anyways, the engineering team managed to install the intake and install the lifter mechanisms onto the robot. Yippee!
As the length of the meeting went on, we slowly went more insane. At 12:30AM, we finally tested the robot outside and it was able to pick up a note and shoot it! We got so happy the other co-president threw the note on the roof (we will be telling everyone that the robot got the note stuck.)
Anyways, I need to wake up at 4AM to get ready and at school by 5AM so that we can make the finishing touches on the robot and finish packing everything to the van.
Wish us luck!
12 AM GANG!!!
