May 6th: Chabot Community College Classes, Class Sparseness, Lego EV3
Today was alright.
At 7 I woke up and I registered for community college classes at the local community college, Chabot College, right when the portal opened. I managed to secure a spot in Spanish and Introduction to Engineering, which are decent classes. Spanish will help me practice and improve my Spanish skills for AP Spanish (If I get into the class), and Introduction to Engineering should give help me a lot with CAD, especially for robotics. I'm in the waitlist for Statistics and Intro to Chemistry, but it looks like I'll be taking Statistics since I'm place 4th in the waitlist for Statistics, while I'm placed 17th for Intro to Chemistry. Anyways, I'm restricted to 11 units, and with Statistics, I'll be at the 11 unit cap.
At school today, classes were rather sparse since many people were gone for AP testing. My school gave students the option to arrived later or leave earlier for their AP Exams, and today was the AP Chemistry exam, so I didn't see many of my friends. I could be gone for 3 days in a row next week for my AP exams! I might take that offer since I really should be studying instead of fooling around on the computer.
I finished programming the basic controls for my Lego Mindstorms EV3 robot. I'm hoping to write a report or something similar on my process for it. As it turns out, Microsoft Makecode doesn't have brake mode, which was why the motors weren't going to exactly the angle position I wrote. I decided to switch over to the EV3 home software for programming, and honestly, it's not too bad. It has Bluetooth connectivity for the robot, so deploying and testing code is ALOT faster. I've finished the basic "teleOP" controls for it, though they're not the best because the infrared controller isn't that good. I still want to make some attachments for the robot so that it's actually useful, but I think I should focus on my AP Exams first.
