October 16th: Cross Country Race and Calculus Midterm
Today was busy!
I got out of school early since I was finished with my CSU Application. After a quick nap at home, and doing a bit of Calculus homework, I got ready for the XC Meet.
Thank you to Ayden's mom for driving us to the meet location! It was at Oyster Bay, somewhere in San Leandro. The course at first was confusing but I got acclimated with it fast. There are some light-medium hills, but the downhills were quite a bit steeper. It's somewhat close to the ocean. The grass around where we were running was very dead but we found solace by some trees.
Overall, I'd say the race was very enjoyable. It wasn't too hot and many people performed very well! We all had a good time and some good laughs. We also had a post-game meal which was nice.
Unfortunately, I got a time of 24'14". I'm very unhappy about my time and I will be committing myself towards running more for our race next Saturday. There were many JV runners deserving of Varsity spots! Unfortunately, the roster we were using was based on older times from earlier in the season.
After the race, I sped-walked home so I could finish my Calculus homework before the midterm. I left the house at 7PM, which meant I was 30 minutes late since it normally takes me 30 minutes to get to campus. The midterm was pretty hard and it was even worse since I had less time because I arrived late to the exam. Fortunately, I managed to do all but 4 questions, because I didn't really have time to study this week. I'll need to be hoping that I did perfect on the questions I did answer, otherwise my grade might be screwed.
