April 1st: (Not) April Fools and Robotics Meeting
Today was OK.
Today is April Fools day. Unfortunately, there weren't any funny or interesting April Fools funnies today.
Today's robotics meeting also went pretty long today. Our progress has made a standstill, but we're extremely close to getting a final product. We're just missing our algae cannon, which should be ready to attach tomorrow after we get the required brackets!
At the start, I diagnosed our 3D printers because some important prints had failed. Fortunately, the fixes were simple but disappointing. For one of our printers, the filament kinked up, which has been happening more recently. It has me concerned that the quality assurance of our spools is bad. For the other one, the software just crashed, possibly because of an incorrect slicing file.
Later, I fixed the energy chain that had been giving us trouble on our robot. It kept breaking because the curve point had the connector inside, which prevented the chain from curving. I extended the wire which allowed malleable wire to curve the chain, which worked!
Afterwards, I discussed our recruitment efforts for this year with our mentors.
