January 11th: Robotics Meeting

Today was fine.

I was pretty tired throughout the day and by the end, I got a headache and could barely keep my head up at the dinner table.

In the robotics lab, the first thing we did was do a big cleanup and reorganization of some parts of the room so that we could put our new (to us) lathe in an appropriate spot. It was really heavy but the room looks a lot better now!

Afterwards, we finalized our robot ideas. Austin, Matthew, and I went over more of the specifics of our robot idea. Afterwards, I began "cadding" it on Roblox Studio, which ended up working pretty well!

Then, everyone began presenting their robot ideas. There were quite a few interesting ones that would've worked. When I presented my Roblox CAD, some people began laughing, but of course— the cad was in Roblox with a Roblox noob jumping around on it. Then, we began discussing our goals for the season since it would align with what we wanted our robot to do.

This led to our design being selected to be cadded and for our final robot design! Pretty cool. We're all hoping to have our best year so far, despite our waning budget!

The room looks a lot better now and hopefully the next week will be productive, with CAD and other projects being restarted after winter break.

For me, I hope to sleep a lot more tomorrow, write my last couple of college essays, do something I want, and then get ready for school.

Thanks for reading,
Issac
