January 25th: Robotics Meeting

Today was happy! Then, disappointing, but necessary.

At the start of the meeting we got to work. I forgot the specifics, but I know we were committed towards doing some website work, doing some CAD and prototyping, and fixing up our last year's robot, Scar2D2. Before lunch, we prepared a small celebration for the birthday of our lead mentor, Mr K. Some others distracted him by leading him to the shed while others prepared the cake and decorations and gifts.

He had a small expectation today since we've been celebrating his birthday for the past couple of days. but I think he was happy about the surprise we gave him. I got him some AV equipment for his room, including a Roku stick, because I knew that he had problems with screen mirroring to his chromecast. As it turns out, the tech administration at our school blocks screen mirroring on macs, which is really annoying. I also got him an HDMI ARC which I verified fixes at least one problem he had.

Afterwards, it took a long time for us to get back on track, but we began brainstorming again. It was like we went back 2 weeks in time because we needed to revise our idea. I'm baffled we're taking up so much time but I hope we can get back on track quickly.
